HDS ViewStation Series [Human Designed Systems, Inc.]

The HDS ViewStation FX series is a family of powerful RISC-basedterminals for X Window applications. Based on the Intel 80960CA chiprunning at 30 MHz, the HDS ViewStation provides workstation classperformance at X terminal prices.ViewStation FX units are available with monochrome, gray-scale, or colormonitors from 14" to 35" and resolutions from 1024x768 to 1280x1024. Theserver runs from ROM, Flash PROM, or downloaded to RAM. The ViewStationFX supports local memory up to 72 MB. e ViewStation runs the Motif WindowManager or the Open Look Window Manager locally. Setup Mode, Telnet, ANSIterminal emulation, Diagnostic messages, and Available Memory also run aslocal clients. User-written local clients are also supported. TheViewStaion uses Thin, Thick, or Twisted-pair Ethernet, and two serialconnections (RS-232 and RJ11) for Compressed SLIP communications, and aDB25 parallel connector for local printer support. A 3-button mouse andIBM PS/2 style or DEC VT420-style keyboard are included. Modular designallows easy upgrade from model to model.HDS ViewStations are powerful RISC-based terminals available withmonochrome, gray-scale, or color monitors. The server runs from FlashPROM, internal hard disk drives, or downloaded from the network; windowmanagers, terminal emulators, and other productivity tools are localViewStation clients. Multimedia video and stereo sound are available onall models.HDS announces full Multimedia video and stereo audio capability for itsViewStation X terminals. New capabilities for the ViewStation's PCMCIAadapters has also been added, including new internal hard disk drives,Token Ring connectivity, and SCSI interface. Dual monitors on a singleViewStation base is also added to the ViewStation line of X terminals.
